4100XPC Shovel Dipper Handle Refurbishment

 Description:

Mainetec strip, cleaned and assessed to Handles on arrival to the workshop. Mainetec develop a SOW which included various upgrades, including baffles. The Handle were fitted with a new set L&H Industrial Racks as part of the refurbishment.  

Purpose:

Mainetec refurbished the Handles as a spare set for site to reduce the exposure to risk on site with the potential for the current set fit to fail at anytime.

Timeframe:

Project duration was 20 weeks from arrival in shop to completion of refurb.

People involved:

Combined effort from Mainetec’s on-site & workshop group, along with Clermont’s maintenance team.

Innovation:

Baffle upgrade, this will create less cracking in the handles plus removable plate for inspecting internals.

Success:

The handles have been since been fitted to the machine in late October 2018.
